The Dark Side of

the Moon

Music Video

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of their album The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd invited animators worldwide to reimagine any of the tracks from the 1973 album.

The story

Set on the dark side of the Moon, this short film tells the haunting tale of a wizard whose obsession with power leads him to ruin.

This narrative unfolds the themes of the opening track “Speak to Me” reflecting time, greed and madness.

The character

The wizard's design draws from ancient magical archetypes—long robes, a hood and arcane symbols.

The environment

The setting combines retro sci-fi with mythological fantasy—the terrain, visualised as a dramatic landscape of towering mountains, deep craters and barren valleys.

We leaned into muted tones, heavy shadows and vast spaces to reflect the silent loneliness present on the dark side of the moon.
